Sabres Sign 2007 Draft Pick Corey Tropp


BUFFALO, NY – Buffalo Sabres GM Darcy Regier announced today the Sabres have signed forward Corey Tropp to a three-year entry level contract. Tropp, Buffalo’s third-round choice (89th overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft, recently completed his junior season at Michigan State.

Tropp (7/25/1989, 6’, 186 lbs.) led the Spartans in scoring this season with a career-high 42 points (20+22) in 37 games, and was ranked among the nation’s leaders in goals, PPG (9) and GWG (5). For his efforts, Tropp was named Michigan State’s Team MVP and Outstanding Offensive Player in 2009-10. A native of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, Tropp finished his collegiate career with 70 points (29+41) in 100 games at Michigan State.

Prior to attending Michigan State, Tropp played two seasons (2005-07) with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League. Tropp led the Stampede in scoring during the 2006-07 season with 62 points (26+36) in 54 games.
