11/01/2013 9:00 AM -

Lewiston, ME – The Portland Pirates will look for retribution tonight as they face the St. John’s IceCaps in their second straight meeting tonight at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Puck drop is set for 7 pm as the Pirates seek their first home win of the 2013-14 season in their second meeting with the IceCaps this week.

The IceCaps came out victorious against the Pirates on Wednesday, winning a 5-1 decision at the Colisee. The Pirates lone goal came from Brandon Yip, his first in a Pirates uniform, but St. John’s scored the first 4 goals of the game, with Carl Klingberg scoring the first and last goal of the game to lead the IceCaps. Louis Domingue made his season debut for the Pirates in relief of Mark Visentin, stopping 13 of the 14 shots he faced. Gilbert Brule and Lucas Lessio tallied assists on the lone Pirates goal, giving Lessio his first Pirates point of the season and Brule his first assist of the year.

Key Bank Key to the Game
Stay out of the Box: While the IceCaps have the 12th best power play in the AHL, the Pirates are ranked 13th in penalty killing with an 83.9% kill rate. The IceCaps went on the man advantage 7 times on Wednesday, scoring once. Limiting power play opportunities will give the Pirates a chance to exercise their own power play, ranked 4th in the AHL, against the IceCaps’ 23rd ranked penalty kill.
