KEVIN KAMINSKI #32
Kevin Kaminski was a member of the Portland Pirates from 1993 to 1995 and
then again during the 1997-98 season. In 113 career games, he recorded 33
goals and 54 assists for 87 points. His 797 penalty minutes are tops on the
club's all-time list. In 1994 - his first season in the organization, he
helped guide the Pirates to the Calder Cup Championship, posting 4-5=9
totals and a League-high 91 penalty minutes in 16 postseason games. His
Pirates' team would then begin the following season by setting a new North
American professional hockey record by going 14-0-3 in their first 17 games.
In 1997, Kaminski would return to the Pirates' line-up, notching 20 points
and 242 penalty minutes in an injury-shortened season. Nonetheless, he won
the Most Popular Player Award, voted on annually by the fans. In addition
to his numerous on-ice contributions, Kaminski has made a lasting impression
in the Portland community. He is actively involved in numerous charitable
events and during the summer runs the Kevin Kaminski Professional Hockey
Academy at various local rinks. During his NHL career, "Killer" played for
the Minnesota North Stars, the Quebec Nordiques and the Washington
Capitals.
