Lowell, MA – Nathan Perkovich, Brad Snetsinger and Vladimir Zharkov each scored a goal and an assist to lead the Lowell Devils to a 4-0 win over the Portland Pirates in an American Hockey League game played this afternoon in front of 1,202 at the Tsongas Arena.
Mike McKenna turned aside 38 shots for his first shutout of the season. Tim Sestito netted the other Devils goal while Patrick Davis collected a pair of assists.
Lowell led 1-0 after one and 4-0 heading into the third.
The Pirates dropped to 1-3-0-0 on the season while Lowell earned their first victory and are now 1-1-1-0.
Jhonas Enroth started for the Pirates and allowed four goals on 23 shots before being replaced by J.P. Lamoureux following the fourth Devils goal at 12:15 of the second period. Lamoureux, making his AHL debut, turned aside all 18 shots he faced in the final 28:45 of the game.
The Devils out shot the Pirates 41-38 in the game.
The three stars of the game were all from the Devils. McKenna was the first, Perkovich the second and Zharkov the third.
The next Pirates game takes place Friday when the Hartford Wolf Pack visits the Cumberland County Civic Center for a 7 p.m. start presented by the Maine Chevy Dealers.
