Portland Blanks Bridgeport 1-0

Jhonas Enroth picked up his third shutout of the season.

Portland, ME – The Portland Pirates picked up a 1-0 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Portland goaltender Jhonas Enroth made 28 saves to earn his third shutout of the season while Mark Mancari scored the game's lone goal.

With tonight's shutout at home, Key Bank Shuts Out the Cold with a $1,000 donation to Keep ME Warm. The money will be used to help local agencies like PROP that assist Maine residents with the cost of heating their homes. Key Bank is committed to Maine's local communities and needs.

The Pirates and Sound Tigers played a scoreless first period, as Portland held Bridgeport to just six shots. Sound Tigers goaltender Nathan Lawson stopped all 10 Pirates shots.

The second period remained scoreless until just past the midpoint of the game when the Pirates went onto a power play. Mark Mancari blasted a slap shot from the left point while falling to his knees and beat Lawson up high. Tim Kennedy and Marc-Andre Gragnani picked up assists on Mancari's 18th goal of the season at the 12:37 mark of the second period. The Pirates took a 1-0 lead into the third period, looking for their first win of the season when scoring only one goal.

Portland goaltender Jhonas Enroth stopped all 11 shots sent his way in the third period to preserve a 1-0 shutout victory. Enroth made 28 saves on 28 shots to pick up the win and improve to 16-11-2-2. Bridgeport goalie Nathan Lawson falls to 10-3-0 on the season after stopping 22 of 23 shots.
