Lewiston, Maine– The Portland Pirates get back to action this Friday when they host the Manchester Monarchs for game 5 of the VIP Cup Series, presented VIP Parts, Tires, and Services at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM as these two clubs will face off for a pivotal matchup, as Portland is just one point ahead of Manchester in the standings, and only one point out first place in the Atlantic Division.
The Pirates are coming off of an impressive 2-1 overtime thriller against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. David Rundblad notched the game winner on the power play to boost the Pirates to a 12-10-1-1 mark, good for third in the Atlantic Division. Net minder Chad Johnson turned aside 28 shots to secure his 8th victory of the season.
