November 30th – Portland 4, Worcester 3

The Pirates faced the Sharks in Portland for the first time this season, with the Pirates coming back from a 1 goal deficit to beat the Sharks 4-3. Alexandre Bolduc had a goal and an assist, pushing him to 20 points on the season, and giving him 60 goals and 140 points in 275 AHL games. Chris Brown, David Rundblad, and Chris Conner also had goals for Portland.

December 1st – Providence 5, Portland 2

The P-Bruins again prevailed at the Civic Center, defeating the Pirates by a 5-2 score. David Rundblad scored in his 4th straight game and Ethan Werek added a tally in the loss.

December 2nd –Portland 4, at Manchester 0

Mark Visentin registered his first career shutout in relief of Chad Johnson and Rob Klinkhammer scored twice as the Pirates tied the VIP Cup Series at 2 games apiece. Klinkhammer’s goals gave him 7 on the year and 3 multi-goal games. Visentin stopped 21 shots over 2 periods and also added an assist, the first point of his career.

SALTY PETE’S PIRATES OF THE WEEK

1)      Alexandre Bolduc had a goal and 4 assists this weekend in 2 games, scoring his team leading 12th goal on Friday against Worcester. Bolduc tallied 2 assists in both Friday and Sunday’s games, and leads the Pirates in points with 22, good for 5th in the AHL.

2)      Rob Klinkhammer had his 3rd multi-goal game of the year, scoring 2 against the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday. Klinkhammer now has 7 goals on the year, scoring all his goals in 3 games.

3)      Mark Visentin registered his first career shutout in Sunday’s game, coming on in relief of Chad Johnson to stop 21 shots in the 4-0 victory. Visentin also registered an assist in the contest, his first professional point.

4)      David Rundblad had a 4 game goal scoring streak come to an end on Sunday, but scored in both Friday and Saturday’s contests. Rundblad holds the 10th longest goal scoring streak in the AHL this year

5)      Ethan Werek had a two goal weekend, scoring against Providence on Saturday and adding an empty net tally on Sunday against Manchester

6)      Darian Dziurzynski scored his first professional goal on Sunday, an empty netter as time expired.

THIS COMING WEEK

Friday, December 7th at Binghamton

The Pirates play their second and final game against the B-Sens on Friday night, this time in Binghamton. Puck drops at 7 PM. The Pirates beat the Senators 4-2 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisée on October 28th

Saturday, December 8th at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Pirates return to the Mohegan Sun Arena for the second time, failing 4-3 in their only shootout of the year in their last visit to Scranton. Puck drops at 7 PM.
